In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." Those men who knew Jesus personally through His death, burial, and resurrection, understood exactly what He meant. Peter said, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). For this reason, the disciples were adamant that all men must turn from sin and every false way, and turn to Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul said, "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). Paul goes on to say that this is because Jesus gave Himself a ransom for sinful man. Jesus is not merely one of many ways to heaven; He is the only way.

And why would we want to follow anyone but Jesus? Jesus was smart, kind, giving, a perfect example. Jesus was God who for a while lived among us. He is able to "sympathize with our weaknesses" and be "patient" that all might be saved. It's never been popular to say it, but Jesus is the only way to heaven. And he invites all come to Him. Anyone who will turn from sin, confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and be immersed into a watery grave (baptism) can have eternal life that only He can offer.
Eternal life is for the obedient
