WALKING IN A MAN'S SHOES

When being critical, they say, don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Jesus walked in man's shoes for 33 years. I would say Jesus went the extra mile. He went the extra mile to understand the weakness of being a man. He made us long ago, in His image He made us. And even though there's nothing beyond his ability to do, God came to us to live in the flesh. What great love for man! Like David said, "What is man that Thou takes thought of him?" The Almighty Creator had as part of his great plan to someday make a personal visitation, to reveal Himself fully to the world. It's not an insignificant piece of history that God became flesh and dwelt among us for a while. My soul is relishing the thought.

Being our High Priest, it says of Jesus, "15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need", Hebrews 4:15,16. Better than any human priest is Jesus Christ. The boldness we can have to approach God's throne is because of the help Jesus gives.

Sometimes I simply can't understand why men do what they do. Most of the time I'm inadequate to judge because, even though I see the wrong he's doing, I don't know the depth of the scars and burdens he's had heaped on him by life. I'm not making excuses for sin, but judging is better done when I've taken the time to connect and understand the person. Now it makes even more sense that Jesus endured so much.

Now it makes even more sense to talk about Jesus. Sinful men don't need my approval or judgment. Sinful men need to know Jesus, because Jesus knows and understands then better than anyone.
