MAKING CALVINISM EASY TO UNDERSTAND

The following is an illustration to share an important truth about the false doctrine called Calvinism. Many "christians" believe parts of the doctrine without ever having a name put to it. But it is Calvinism which I will explain.
MAKING CALVINISM UNDERSTANDABLE...
Let's say that God wants everybody to give Him a candy bar or they go to hell but no one has a candy bar, everyone is candy bar-less, and they have no way to get or make one. So God gives them the candy bar to give back to Him: that's Calvinism.
Let's say that God only gives the candy bar to certain people with no choice of their own, who then give it back to Him with no choice of their own: that's Calvinism.
And let's say that God doesn't give the candy bar to the majority of people and so they have no candy bar to give back and so they go to hell because they were born without a candy bar and never could possibly give Him one: that's Calvinism.
Let's say that the blessed people, who won the lottery and were the select few who were given the candy bar to give back to God, sit around talking about how blessed they are to have such a good and fair God: that's Calvinism.
The Bible says we were are born innocent babies and children and that it's the adults who have sinned and must repent and be baptized to appropriate God's saving grace. The Bible says we have free will and it's upon us to give faith to Him or not. God doesn't expect love and faith from lost souls if they couldn't give it of their own free will. The Bible says God is just and will judge everyone for their deeds and for no one else's. Little babies aren't sinners. The Calvinists who say depravity is inherited don't understand the definition of sin, 1 Jn 3:4. The Bible says Jesus came to taste death and to be salvation for all who truly believe in Him. Calvinism says that Jesus only died for an elected few, but the following passages show that God is offering salvation to all souls. John 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:4,6; 4:10; Titus 2:11; Heb. 2:9; 1 Jn 2:1,2. Calvinism says that conversion can only happen by a moment of "irresistible grace" that falls upon the elected few. But the Bible says "faith comes from hearing, hearing by the word of Christ" and the the Bible needs to be preached to all the nations so that men hear and repent. Salvation is available to all.
Calvinism distorts our view of God, of Jesus' mission and what is foreordained, of man's nature, of sin, and so much more.
When Catholics, Episcopalians, Presbyterians and others "baptize" infants, they believe a form of the same error that children are conceived into a fallen state (thanks to Augustine). When Baptist say that inherited sin is passed on through the father, not the mother, they show they have accepted the same error. When denominations teach "once saved, always saved", they accept part of Calvinism even though the Scriptures are abundantly clear that the same free will that entered God's grace can choose to leave/fall from God's grace. Of course, Calvinism says there is no free will: there was no choice to be saved and there's no choice but to remain saved.
God is just and right and will judge every soul for the deeds done in the flesh, Rom 2:6-8; 2 Cor. 5;10. God would not set a (candy) bar so high as to make it impossible to reach. The bar is faith, the obedient faith Paul talks about in Romans, Rom 1:5; 16:26; 6:16-18), and it's attainable by all. If they hear the Gospel, and believe it with repentance, they will obey Jesus' command to be immersed for the remission of sins (Acts 22:16; 1 Pt 3:21; Col 2:12,13), and God will by his power (Gr, ENERGEIA, Col 1:12) wash away the sins and raise them to walk in newness of life (Rom 6:3-5).
Salvation is yours if you want it. God loves you and every single person who was and ever will be born to the point of having his Son die for all people. I hope that this short lesson makes it abundantly clear that Calvinism is an abominable lie. Said with love. Sincerely, Dan Mayfield, M.A. Bible
