GOD'S GRACE REACHES DOWN TO THE HAND OF FAITH REACHING UP

God's grace reaches down to save the hand of a sinner reaching to Him in faith. The Sovereign God saves all who come to Him without partiality, Rev. 22:17. The salvation He gives is a hundred percent unearned and deserved. But do you understand why then it is that everyone will not be saved? It's simple. The lack of faith by the Losts means their hands never reach up for His salvation.

1 Peter 2:2 says for us to be like newborn babies who crave the pure milk of the Word that we might grow in respect to salvation. The salvation is a work that only God can do. It's passive because God works the salvation. But for most sinners it remains only a potential salvation of salvation, what could or might be, only if they craved and desired God's Word.

The Word of God is powerful, Heb 4:12,13. It is able to make us wise unto salvation, and is able to save our souls, 2 Tim. 3:15; James 1:21. And so we crave and desire to be nourished on what it says. When we do the faith thing of opening our Bibles and meditate on that message both night and day, then God is going to work His work of salvation in us. This is offered to all sinners.

If you would be saved by God, then yield to Him. When you are sinking in the depths of the sea and realize saving your self is impossible, then you do the feeblest thing of reaching up to God's grace.

Do you believe in Jesus Christ? If you believe in the Cross, then you know His blood was shed for your sins. Do you really think you can be saved by God without repentance? John said, "bring forth fruits in keeping with repentance." Peter said, "repent and return so that your sins may be wiped away", Acts 3:19.

There's something else God wants you to do if you would have His gift of salvation. He wants you to be baptized. Listen to the words Paul said to the Romans. He said, "Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection", Rom. 6:3-5. The Christians in Rome understood they were dead in their trespasses and sins. They were spiritual dead and separated from God. But with belief and Repentance, they were taught to submit to being immersed in a watery grave. In it they recalled that it was a united with Christ, a burial with Him. Thus they were put in the grave that they might be raised to walk in newness of life. Did repentance or baptism earn them salvation? Only a fool would think so. No, but it was through baptism that they made a personal appeal to God for a clean conscience that they might be cleansed and made anew, Acts 22:16; 1 Pt 3:21; cf Acts 2:21,38.

God's hand is reaching down to every sinner. Who will in faith reach up to Him?
