GET UP EVERY DAY....AND BE FAITHFUL

Everyone commits. So they wear the yellow bracelets. They wear the pink ribbons. People are committed to going to their gym with the hope of staying fit and young. Commitment drives people to excellence. They are committed to their jobs because they need it. What about the commitment to Christ?

Christians can begin their walk with great zeal like a "fire in my bones" to tell the world the Good News. But what happens often is the passion for Christ's mission becomes something we become detached from and the whole "I'm living for Christ", in time becomes the cool gel of, "Yeh, Jesus is part of my life, what about it?"
"20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh." - Jude 20-23
Instead of allowing our faith to drift away with the ebb and flow of worldly interests, keep building yourself up in the love of God. Instead of losing sight of heaven, keep waiting anxiously for His return. Instead of losing our evangelistic fervor, care about lost souls. Bring to the lost Jesus' message of mercy, forgiveness and salvation. Instead of saving for retirement in this life, save souls and lay up treasures in heaven.

If we are not careful, Jesus' "coming to seek and to save the lost" will be treated by us as mildly quaint and nothing to do with us.

Oh dear God, I pray that your children will be about your business that they not be caught by surprise when death takes us from this life.
