YOU WILL BE BETTER, Dan Mayfield

Christians don't expect to be free of trials or a cross. Through patient endurance we come through perfected and matured more into the fullness of Christ.

The Psalmist said, "Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word." Ps. 119:67.

And just verses later, "71It is good for me that I was afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes." Ps 119:71.

It isn't likely that we always have the wisdom to initially understand the purpose our use of these afflictions, but the Psalmist tells us that in the end he was actually blessed.

This was true of Job of whom it says, "12The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning;" Job 42:12. Who can understand all of the plans of God to lay judgment on Him while we suffer trials. We should be confident that God cares for us and works all things together for good.

Trials when met with patient endurance bears the fruit of joy and righteousness. The early father loves us when for a few years gives us discipline. Shall we grown upon God for giving us needed discipline? Do we not understand that God discipline trains us for the race towards the prize of the upward call of God?

When troubles enter our life, don't ruin. No, instead pray and meditate on His Word. Don't curse God as if He is one who does wrong?

The Apostle was given a thorn I'm the flesh. Are we better Christians than Paul? Paul wanted relief because he did not understand that God's power is perfected in weakness, 2 Cor 12. We too need to know weakness for only then are we ready to be God's instrument for good.

You, dear friend, are carrying burdens heavier than I. And because you rejoice and walk closer to Christ than you did before, you can attest of the grace to be discovered in the storm and affliction. And the power of your Faith is making more people to draw near to God.

Finally, we always hesitate to assign a divine cause for our suffering. But people of Faith always consider there is something wonderful to be learned and they are the ones who come through even better.
