In the letters of John Quincy Adams to his college bound son, note the date he gives for Moses receiving the Law.
"But to judge of its excellence as a system of laws, it must be compared with human codes which existed or were promulgated at nearly the same age of the world in other nations. Remember, that the law was given 1,490 years before Christ was born, at the time the Assyrian and Egyptian monarchies existed: but of their government and laws we know scarcely anything save what is collected AND ITS TEACHINGS." - Letters of John Quincy Adams, to His Son, on the Bible and Its Teachings, Letter V
It is a mark of the conservative and reverential approach to Scriptures to use this date of 1,490 b.c. The liberal approach, that doubts inspiration, dates the time of Moses in the 13th century b.c., instead of the 15th b.c. A person who believes God gave the Bible to man is going to accurately place Moses in the date that Adams did.
DO YOU KNOW WHY THE LIBERAL 13TH CENTURY B.C. DATE DOESN'T WORK?
